i got around to finishing my first custom painted epoch tonight  not without some hassle though... let me tell you now, pactra paint will not stick/adhear to an epoch  tamiya paint works well once you sand the surface slightly.

anywho, it's been a ruff week at work so i need to drown myself in some hobby work. last night, about 11pm i decided to give painting my epoch a try. by 12pm i had the red trim done and called it a night. tonight i finished the black paint (twice). i ran out of flat black in tamiya so i tried outlaw black from pactra which went on like surup and came off like rubber cement  i sanded it down a bit and repainted with metallic black tamiya which went on ok given the shoddy condition of the surface at that point.

i then cut and applied some left over tinyrc decals i had (no 1-43 decals are available yet). i let it sit on my pc to dry for an hour and now it's done!

you can see how bad the pactra paint stuck to the mask tape. it was that bad all over before i scrapped it off

it took a fine hand to scrape off some of the overspray with an xacto knife but the trick worked well :D

the rest was putting the spoiler back on and applying the decals

That's pretty sweet looking? Has to be pretty small though compared to the 1/32 or 1/28. Can you take a group shop?

the only comparison shot (http://www2.mini-zracer.com/albums/album636/IMG_1122.sized.jpg) i have does not include an epoch, but i do have a picture of the 1:32 rear end next to the epoch (http://www2.mini-zracer.com/gallery/album700/IMG_1621)

Look's cool, still not sure what kind of plastic these cars use.

Nice choice of colours, the decals really blend in!
