2s lipo vs. 2p lipo?
Just how much voltage can the epoch PCB handle? I searched here and at ripper and couldn't find a number (though I thought someone had mentioned a number).
Reason I bring this up is that I received a 2s kokam 145 lipo (cute little thing) when I bought something else from a user. Now I know I could cut the thing up and flip a cell over so that it will run as a 2p pack. I'd assume that with the alum solder already on it I should be able to do this. While I could do this, I got to thinking about other options. What if we used a voltage regulator along with the 2cell lipo to keep the voltage at a level the epoch PCB likes. pros: -higher voltage, could match a 4 cell with a 5V regulator, perhaps more if the PCB could handle it -more stable voltage -no need for me to cut up the pack cons: -poor efficiency (5V regulator is around 63% eff assuming a battery voltage of 8V, 6V regulator is 75%) -less runtime than if in parallel config (tho more than stock cells at rated mAh) |

The steering starts to really spaz out right around 5 volts.
